Overview

Our newly expanded space brings together library, technology, and other campus services in an environment that fosters informal, collaborative and creative work, and social interaction for Bobcats.

 

Library staff and trained student workers provide research and technology assistance. All resources and services embody Alkek's commitment to enhancing teaching, learning, and research in a technology-rich environment.

    Suggestions/Comments/Ideas?

    When you walk into the library in front of the Research and Information Desk, we have a Comment Mailbox for you to anonymously provide feedback on the library and its services.

    To the left of the elevators on the main floor is our Whiteboard where you can answer questions from library staff

     

    WELCOME TO THE ALKEK LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONS

    The renovated 2nd floor features furniture designed for comfortable individual and group study while remaining practical for adjusting your study habits with seating arrangements.

       

      Resources available

      KIC Machines- scanning for private use of personal and library materials on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.

      Charging Stations- with USB and A/C adaptors for electronic charging on the 4th floor.

      Collaboration Center- for student group presentations and collaborative learning in conference rooms with digital editing bays.

      Printer Help- assistance with software and hardware on library and personal computers as well as printers.

      Instant Theater- for interactive workshops and presentations to larger groups, taught by library and IT staff.

      Learning Areas- general study areas with dry erase boards and a Collaboration Zone on the 2nd floor.
